UC and capital

Hello,
Please I have a client who is currently on UC. He is a carer for his wife and 3 children.
The issue is he has a property he jointly owned with his brother. The property is being let and he gets about £430 a month as his own share from the letting.
He said UC told him he has to sell the property come April next year as they will stop his benefit due to the capital he has.
The property is valued at 220k.His brother is not willing to sell.
He wishes to know where he stands.
Please has anyone dealt with something similar.
