Disability Premium For Clients in Residential and Nursing Care
We have been advised that clients (under 60’s) who are permanent residents in Residential/Nursing Homes are to lose their disability premium after being in the homes for 52 weeks. The DWP have advised us that clients in Residential/Nursing Homes are to be treated the same as those in a hospital or similar institution.
Has anyone else any experience of this happening in their area?
Has anyone appealed this?
Any information welcome, thanks in advance.
Could the DWP be mixing up the rules for enhanced disability premium and disability premium? Extract from DMG:
