Universal Credit and information technology
The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions issued a written statement to Parliament last week in relation to approval being granted for a contigency fund of £18 million being made available to allow for the development of information technology for universal credit before the WRB receives royal assent. It will be interesting to see what the final bill for this project turns out to be, with estimates in the statement already that the costs will be as much as £50 million.
