Weekly HMRC statistics also show that total value of CJRS claims has exceeded £20bn, increasing by more than £1bn in last week alone
The number of employees furloughed under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) increased by 200,000 in the week up to 14 June 2020, taking the total furloughed since the scheme launched to more than 9 million.
In weekly statistics on take-up of the CJRS issued today, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) reports that -
In addition, new statistics for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme show that there have been a total of 2.6 million claims between the scheme launch date on 13 May 2020 and 14 June 2020 (the same number as recorded for the previous week) with a total value of £7.6 billion (£100 million more than recorded in the previous week).
