Weekly HMRC statistics show that value of claims has increased by almost £2bn since previous week, solely due to claims made under the CJRS
Claims worth almost £40 billion have been made under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS), according to new HMRC figures.
In weekly statistics on the take-up of the CJRS and SEISS issued today, HMRC reports that in relation to the CJRS -
In addition, HMRC highlights that there will be no further update to the statistics recorded for the first tranche of the SEISS because it closed on 13 July 2020 - when 2.7 million claims to the value of £7.8 billion had been made. It also confirms that information regarding the second tranche of the SEISS will be published when available after claims open on 17 August 2020.
