I’d appreciate any help/ideas with the following case please.

I’m trying to help a 20 year old claim Jobseekers Allowance but her claim has been refused as JCP are treating her as being a full time student until the course term ends at the end of June. She has submitted a letter from the college which states that she completed the course early on the 16th May but JCP will not revise their decision. I cannot get any further letters/evidence from the college and in the meantime my client is really struggling without any income.

JSA Regs 1996, Reg 130:
“last day of the course” means the date on which the last day of the final academic term falls in respect of the course in which the student is enrolled

You are treated as a student until the last day of your course or until you are abandoned or dismissed from it - see latest CPAG P. 906
