Apologies if this has been asked before but I could not find via the search engine….

Where a tenant has a liability to pay 8 weeks rent in advance and does not do so, will the provisions of the above case, trigger direct payment to the landlord through UC.

Many thanks for any help or guidance.

Best wishes

Ray

don’t know if you have already had the answer to this but its no - the tenant needs to be in arrears fr switchback and even then i’ve heard its still not as straightforward so as a landlord you may find the tenant ends up around 12 weeks in arrears before you start getting HB directly

Many thanks…...

Much appreciated.

We had a presentation at Council this week and things were explained there…..as you say, not as straightforward but also the delays create further concerns as to whether it will happen etc.

Some talk about HB being excluded from UC….it all seems still up in the air.

Best wishes
