can anyone point me to a calculator for working out the impact of studant loans/grants on IS

This website http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx calculates Income Support, I do not know if it will take into account the impact of loans/grants

Sorry, I think you are just going to have to do it the hard way. Most, if not all, I/S calculators do not calculate entitlements accurately for people in hospital/residential care or full-time students so once you tick the student bit it comes up with an error message and goes on to say contact an advisor.
