Zambrano carer and UC

Hi All

Cl granted pre settled status in March 2021 as a Zambrano carer.
July 2021 UC decides no right to reside.
Re-claims UC in April 2022 and is awarded.
May 2024 is granted settled status.

From what I can see, Zambrano carers with pre-settled status cannot access UC?
As such, the 2021 decision would appear to be correct and, if this is the case, I’m not sure why it would have been granted in 2022.
Is my analysis correct?

You are correct that Zambrano rights are not sufficient to secure access to UC. But perhaps your client had some other right to reside at that time that was - probably not a string you want to pull on.
