Notional Pension Income issues, especially for mixed-age couples
I’ve posted a detailed look at how notional pension income works, especially for mixed-age couples, on my blog. It’s a bit numerate I’m afraid.

It’s one of the areas that I’ve been banging on about for some years, to little effect. I’ll touch on it at NAWRA in Greenwich next month.
thanks for this gareth.
o the subject of notional income from pension, this hot off the CofA presses this morning
Thanks Claire. Interesting and, thankfully for me, doesn’t change my calculations. Actually, I think it’s thankfully for him as well. If they had decided that it was capital and not something that would generate an annuity then, after the £10,000 disregard, he’d be left with £80,410 of capital which would generate a deemed income, under the capital regs, of £161 a week rather than the £126.45 of the notional income rules.
