Councils breaching legal limits on disabled facilities grant timescales

New research by Leonard Cheshire Disability finds that, between 2011/2012 and 2013/2014, almost 2,500 disabled people a year waited over the time limit of a year to receive their disabled facilities grant after it had been approved, and that these delays were leaving disabled people living in inappropriate conditions and at risk of falls, and were driving up the costs of health and social care.
