Hello,

My client is in receipt of NS ESA in the Support group and PIP. They are due to have another WCA imminently and are concerned about the significant distress that the assessment process causes. Client has MH conditions and feels that they should be treated as having a severe condition and should not have to go through the process.

Client is adamant that they cannot go through the assessment. We have made them aware that they may lose their current award if they do not.

Does anybody have any thoughts on what my client can do?

Many thanks in advance.

The last lot of figures had 15% of WCA’s as paper based, if you can get enough evidence to support that they have lcwra, send that in and request a paper based assessment.  Also the majority which ‘need’ an actual appointment for an assessment are still by phone, at 73% and only 6% as a face to face assessment.

This may help lessen your client’s distress
