UC claim recourse to public funds
a couple with different immigration status.
one british - partner on a visa with no recourse to public funds.
used to be able to claim tax credits fine and that wasn’t classed as recourse.
now they are in a full UC service area with less than 3 children so they have to claim UC - is that now classed as recourse? in which case its not advisable for them to claim UC.
Claim UC as a single person, see p.,1524 of CPAG 2017/18.
oh so its like ESA rules where they will let you claim as a single person but just take any of the partners income into account. brilliant.
housing benefit rules used to be you had to claim joint (council wouldn’t let you claim single) and if you got additional HB as a result of the joint claim then that would count as recourse.
so now on UC they will be able to get single claim UC with housing costs? so this is better than HB
thanks
Anyone?
So can claim uc as single person and get help with rent through housing costs.
Even if partner has no recourse.
So this is more beneficial than hb used to be as that had to be a joint claim and that would be classed as recourse?
