Anyone up for a Euro2024 competition?

Make 4 sets of predictions by adding your predictions to this thread ... all entries have to be submitted before the tournament kicks off in 2 weeks time ... book token prizes ...

How does that sound?

Let’s do it .............. ⚽ ⚽ ⚽ ⚽🏆

_______________________________

1. The tournament kicks off on 14 June with 6 groups, each with four teams who play one another in a mini-league format. The top two teams in each group progress to the knock-out stages.

Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D: Poland, Netherlands, Austria, France
Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine
Group F: Turkey, Georgia, Portugal, Czechia

Predict >> which two teams will finish top of each group (in any order). 2 points for each correct pick.

2. Teams will then play a series of knock-out games before 4 teams reach the semi-finals, to be played on the 9th and 10th of July.

Predict >> the 4 semi-finalists: 4 points for each correct pick.

3. The final takes place in Berlin on Sunday 14th July ...

Predict >> the winner for 10 points.

4. For a bonus 5 points ...

Predict >> the team that the Golden Boot winner for top scorer plays for.

NB - in the event of a tie, earliest submitted entry wins.

Good luck everybody ......

I’ve got Slovakia in work sweepstake so I was cheering to the roof when the goals were disallowed.

So that was the group stage ... how we doing?

Here’s an update ... Keith’s opened up a nice lead, with a fantastic 11 out of 12 picks finishing in the top two ....

https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/images/uploads/euro2024-update-groups.jpg

All to play for however ... though myself and Alan have some catching up to do!!

(Meanwhile: Golden Boot leader at the moment plays for ... Georgia ... picked by ... none of us 😂)

Looking ahead to the knockouts that start on Saturday ...  here’s an overview of our picks:

Cheers all ...

Hmm. After the success of the Chimpions League it seems my football management energy is somewhat depleted. I will now try and recharge my batteries for the next round by staying up all night watching the current government being destroyed…

Update following the conclusion of the quarter-finals ... all looking very tight at the top ...

... although, with all the leaders having picked France to win, Esme could come through the pack with Spain, or Paul with England!

NB - in the race for the Golden Boot, and with all of our remaining picks covering France and England ... France have no players who have scored more than one goal, and England have two players who have scored 2 (Kane and Bellingham) ... need to catch Gakpo who has 3 goals for the Netherlands and Mkikautadze who scored the same for Georgia (who are out). However, there are also 2 Spain players and another from the Netherlands who have also scored 2 who are also in with a chance.)
