Are people experiencing problems with the UC phone lines i.e. no precorded message just silence?

If we ring the DWP legacy benefits line we get a ringing tone and pre-recorded message. If we ring the UC live service 0800 328 9344 or the UCFS 0800 328 5644 no ringing tone and pre-recorded message just silence (pre Xmas and now post Xmas.

Bizarrely if we ring the now defunct 0345 600 0723 we do get a dialing tone and a pre-recorded message telling us to ring 0800 328 9344.

Does anyone know if the free numbers actually work or have ever worked, or whether these are ‘operational issues’?

Happy New Year.

I rang the Full Service number this morning and got the usual pre-recorded message and press 1 for this blah blah, also worked before Xmas…

I have seen someone else post about this on another thread though, sorry can’t find it.

You aren’t ringing from a line that had 0800 numbers disallowed when they were chargeable , for example a cellular connection?

I think we have usual land lines, i.e. we don’t have to log into a computer.

The phone lines are working today for us, so previously, it does appear to have been ‘operational issues’.
