New regulations issued that make provision under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 about the way in which a local authority must carry out a financial assessment of a person’s financial resources, for example where it thinks that if it were to meet their need for care and support (or a carer’s needs for support) it would impose a charge under section 59 of the Act.

Complaints to Local Government Ombudsman about social care up by 18 per cent

In today's 'Annual Review of Adult Social Care Complaints 2014/2015', the Ombudsman says that 2,803 complaints and enquiries about adult social care were received in 2014/2015 - an increase of 18 per cent on the previous year - and that, in 55 per cent of cases that were investigated, the complaint was upheld.
