Stephen Crabb’s speech - he’s keeping UC (sigh)
It looks as if Mr Crabb has used his first major speech to say…not much.
‘Mr Crabb said he was committed to press ahead with rolling out Universal Credit, which will be available in all jobcentres for the first time this month.
“The next stage will be the ambitious full rollout, so that every person, in every circumstance, who steps into a job centre for the first time will be on Universal Credit.”’
He may need to deal with the problem that anyone who ‘steps in to a Jobcentre for the first time’ will be thrown out for not having an appointment.
And the impression is still being given that UC is rather more ‘available’ than it really is.
He may need to deal with the problem that anyone who ‘steps in to a Jobcentre for the first time’ will be thrown out for not having an appointment.
lolz, roflmao etc :D

... and via rightsnet news:
[disability] employment gap isn’t because of a lack of aspiration on the part of sick and disabled people
So Mr Crabb is going to abolish the plans to scrap the WRAC of ESA then? Because I’m sure the rationale stated for that cut was precisely because disabled people on ESA did lack motivation due to living such a cushy life…...
interesting misquote in Crabb’s speech highlighted in this tweet -
Coincidentally, I wrote something about DWP’s problem with communications this week.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose…..
Ooh la-la (land).
