I’m going to an appeal soon concerning an old decision to sanction JSA and terminate the claim.

At this point the sanctionee stopped signing on, and has survived for a long period without income.  He only came to see us in recent weeks, and is still reluctant to sign on again, despite our advice to do so.

If the appeal succeeds, I have a suspicion that JCP will then decide that he was not actively seeking work since he stopped signing, and limit any payment to earlier period of sanction.

Does anyone have experience of this happening?
Is there anything that could be done?

Many thanks as always
