Hi everyone, this may show my lack of knowledge but yesterday came across disallowance of JSA in relation to sanctions.
Somewhat shocked that this leads to no entitlement to hardship payments or crediting of NI contributions. In the discussion we were having it was used as an example during the initial sanction period for JSA that sanction would be 2 weeks and disallowance the first 1 or 2 weeks but we did not get on to the further time periods that DWP are able to impose and how it is reflected in these. It was also pointed out that clients then have to reapply for benefit after disallowance as the claim is then ceased.

Having looked at CPAG and Advisernet I cannot find reference to disallowance apart from one brief entry about crisis loan on Advisernet.

Can anyone offer any guidance on this and where I can find further reading?

Thanks in advance.
