Legal Services Commission confirms decision to end funding of Specialist Support Service
The LSC has published its response to the consultation on the future of the Specialist Support Service ...
“Having considered the responses, and in light of the current legal aid landscape, the impacts of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act and our priorities and resources we have decided to proceed with the proposal to discontinue the Specialist Support Service.”

This is terrible news .. clearly the specialist support service is far too successful, costing the government millions!! .. we will all miss David ‘Domino’ Samson for sure ;( This service has been a lifeline to me, particularly in my early advice years or when I got stuck on a complex issue. May I extend my sincerest gratitude to all of you ;)
Disgraceful… but I am sadly unsurprised.
thanks for your kind words eri ....
... looking for positives ... the good news is that david will be continuing to lead on our advice support activity, including the support we’re able to offer through the forum .... so you’ll still ‘see’ him around ...
onwards and upwards!

Hi Shawn,
Great to hear that David will still lead on this… I am sure that as a team you will be able to develop new and innovative ways to deliver the sterling service and support that we will all need over this difficult period ahead
