My client to my surprise was awarded lCW, his main issue is alcohol abuse, a bit of anxiety and back pain, he came via a support organisation to us, they now want me to pursue LCWRA , medical evidence is scant,
any pointer son how the exceptional rules, harm/risk for this sort of case, the client speaks no english at all so interpreters needed which complicates sit somewhat

I’ve had lots of these where there’s been minimal medical evidence. What about letter from support organisation? It’s worth an appeal either way. The basic argument would generally be something like the pressure of being expected to attend/engage with the jobcentre and take part in work related activity would make his alcohol dependency and anxiety issues worse.

Shouldn’t it be your views that form the basis of advice and action, not what they’d like you to do?

Gareth, yes i agree, that’s the problem with some single issue support agencies, they just keep pushing for the max amount of potential benefits and don’t realise that an appeal or MR could lead to an adverse outcome
