Bailiffs sent to IAS offices
I read this in the Benefits & Work newsletter today but the story seems to have originated, as so many do, from John Pring at DNS https://www.disabilitynewsservice.com/atos-pays-out-for-negligent-pip-assessment-after-visit-from-debt-enforcement-officers/
Strategic casework at its finest.
I am a big fan of DNS.
Great stuff!
Reading the facts in the story it is scary how common the pointless reassessment and 0 point assessments are, how many clients do we see like this….
This especially hit home:
“Even then, she was called for another face-to-face assessment just days later, and had to rely on an intervention from her MP, Alex Cunningham, to secure an admission from DWP that her PIP award was now not due to end until 2023, and an apology “for any distress the confusion may have caused”
Might be a tactic that if enough of us adopted might see a change, I will not hold my breath though.
