Loss of SDP following end of gateway.
.. I’m wondering whether as a tactic she could apply for NS-ESA before 27/1/21 and then ask for the decision to be revised to ESAir once PIP is reinstated. Would a claim for NS ESA have this potential?
New style ESA is contribution based only and a new style ESA claimant cannot be reassessed for income based ESA. So the answer is no.

- has there been any clarification on how backdated awards of PIP are treated by the DWP, with regards to the gateway?
and so what effect this would have on eligibility of a transitional payment?
