Hi
can anyone advise if Regulation 7 paragraph (4) which relates to temporary accommodation provided whilst essential repairs are carried out has a time limit? It states that you are treated as occupying as your home the dwelling in which you are liable to make payments i.e. the landlord can decide whether to charge rent for the normal home or the temporary home but it does not state if this is subject to the the normal 13 weeks rule?

Thanks

Alan

Thanks Tony

no it just applies to rent on one property as we are trying to prepare a policy for when we have to ‘decant’ tenants for major repairs work and therefore we will only charge rent on one property. It would make it a lot easier if this could be the ‘normal’ home hence the need to know if a time limit applies as this will avoid the need for change of address claims for HB.

Thanks for your help
