Claimants who cliamed UC at the end of April should be receiving their first payments by the end of this week - does anyone know if any payments have actually be made yet?

I’m told the first claims are in payment. I don’t know the numbers, but I believe it is not very many.

‘Not very many’ meaning - a tad or a handful or a highly successful pilot?

I don’t know. I believe it might be less than the 300 per month anticipated, but probably at least double figures. Beyond that range, I have no idea.

They said at Nawra on Friday that there had been 9 claims involving Housing Costs and one referral for Council Tax relief.

Is that a tad or a handful?

That was only the number notified to the local council benefits section in the first month. No info on how many actual claims there have been.
