Morning all

I am trapped in an office with an out of date CPAG book and need to check someadvice:

Am I right in saying:

For JSA contractual (in this case voluntary) redundency pay is ignored as capital and statutory contractual pay is counted as capital

For HB and CTB both stat and contractual redundency pay are counted as capital.

Taking vol. redundency isn’t seen as making yourself voluntarily unemployed and sanctionable under JSA rules.

Thanks for your help

If it’s still required “You have not left your job voluntarily if you volunteer, or accept your employer’s proposal for redundancy only if there is a redundancy situation in the workplace (i,e a whole department is closing down)” A person may get caught out if other jobs are available and they refuse them but they will not have left their job voluntarily.

In terms of the treatment of the redundancy payments you are spot on.
