JSA sanctions from 22.10.12 and rapid re-claims

We have had 2 clients this week who following short sanctions, have been asked to make a rapid re-claim before JSA could be reinstated. Both clients have continued to sign on and seek work during the sanction. The sanction decision states that entitlement will continue after the sanction, but not that they are required to maje a rapid re-claim for this. I can’t find anything that confirms that a rapid reclaim is necessary following a sanction - is this correct?

I suppose they have genuinely been sanctioned rather than having benefit stopped for eg missing an appointment?
