Deprivation and family members
CPAG p933 says that the deprivation rule for working age means-tested benefits “can only apply if the purpose of the deprivation is to gain benefit for yourself (or your family)”.
Does “family” mean ‘benefit household’, or can it include siblings living elsewhere? Income Support reg 42(1) doesn’t seem to specify.
It means benefit family, see section 137 of the Contributions and Benefits Act.
