This bit was grimly humorous:

Practices described an “endless cycle” of appeals, during which time the patients’ benefits are reduced. One GP calls this “completely unnecessary [and] completely avoidable”; another felt that the WCA (Work Capability Assessments) were ill-matched to the clinical reality.

For obvious reasons the patients in X [deprived area of Glasgow] call Corunna House [where the Work Capability Assessments are done] “Lourdes” because all the sick come out cured!
