Hi
can someone please confirm how income from the above is treated for means-tested benefits. I only have an old version of the CPAG guide so wanted to check the latest figures.

Boarders -£20 disregard and half of the remainder is used as unearned income?

Sub-tenants £4 disregard plus £15.25 if heating is included?

we are looking to publicise the size restrictions for HB in the social sector from next April so this will be a FAQ probably

Thanks
Alan

From April 2008 subtenant income was simplified to a flat £20/week disregard for each subtenant (for IS, JSA(IB), and working-age HB/CTB).  The flat rate £20 subtenant disregard already applied for PC and pension-age HB/CTB.

(time to buy a new book?)
