Budget changes for age 19+
Mon 22-Mar-04 04:14 PM

Does anyone have any more information yet on likely implementation date for the extension of entitlement of IS/CB/CTC until the end of the course of (presumably non advanced FT)study where this goes beyond the young person's 19th birthday (bar at 21st birthday). My benefits rate poster is about to go for printing and I want to put a specific ref on it to the change if I can.

Followed this up and have a partial answer. Nothing happening in short term as primary legislation required for Child Benefit to implement the changes. Parliamentary time will need to be found for this. Nothing will therefore be in place for the start of the new academic year in September but possibility that legislative changes may be in place by end of the new academic year - piece of string scenario.
