When is a Crisis Not a Crisis?
Wed 06-Apr-05 12:32 PM

Is anyone else having problems with WTC and CTC payments due to the computer system being "updated"?
We have had several clients who have had no payments made because the computer system is being upgraded and without a computer system no authorisation can be made for payments to be done by local tax offices. Our clients need authorisation from Blackpool, but there is nothing on system to say there is an entitlement to Tax Credits.

Try for a crisis loan? Why not! Well a crisis isnt a crisis when 300 ppl have called the local JobCentre plus for a crisis loan due to non payment of Tax Credits and the DWP say its not their fault that the Inland Revenue dont have a clerical system to back up the computer one.

Any help or ideas folks?

Try the local IR office for an interim payment. I'm sure they could cope with a queue of 300 claimants let down by their system!

We tried that.....the local office won't or can't do an interim payment without authorisation from Blackpool. Blackpool can't authorise anything because their system is down.
Catch 22!
