Date of claim
Mon 20-Mar-06 03:26 PM

I'm sure I saw a summary of a new SI, possibly in October or November 2005, which changed the date of claim for HB. I have found the information about the date of claim being from first contact about claiming, but I thought I remembered something about HB being paid on a daily basis, rather than from the Monday following the date of claim?
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Also, confirmation that this would still apply if it is a move and client is receiving benefit on both old and new property?

I think the SI you are looking for is SI 2005/2502. You'll need to read it with sch.2 para 27 of the HB and CTB (Consequential Provisions) Regulations, SI 2006/217. The guidance for SI 2005/2502 is in the HB circular A18/2005.

The provisions where rent is to be calculated on a daily basis come in on 1 April and where they are to be calculated ona weekly basis, 3 April.
