Hi, does anyone know of any fora(?)not sure if that's the correct plural - for Welfare Rights Advisers and related workers in the social housing sector to network and share ideas? If not would anyone be interested in setting one up?

I'm based in Gloucester and most of our tenants live in Gloucestershire but we do have properties in neighbouring counties. If anyone would like to contact me my e-mail is morgana@glosha.co.uk.

That's a good idea - good luck with it. I'm not in your area though. So if there is anyone in the industrial north............

London and south-easternish Welfare Rights Officers etc. working for housing associations have been meeting quarterly for the last 10 years. We've also had members from large associations who've come down from Cheshire, Leeds etc.


The current meetings secretary is Nicola Wallace - you can e-mail her at nwallace@cluttons.com to ask any questions, and she can also send you details of the next meeting, minutes of the last meeting etc.

Meetings are held at Mosaic Homes offices near Liverpool Street.

I'm from the frozen North too, and work for a housing association though my job is much more Housing Benefits related these days than general welfare rights. but I would be interested in joining any such forum inhte North, and there are a few colleagues who would also be interested. Not sure i've got time to actually organise anything though....
