computer case recording
Mon 26-Jun-06 08:44 AM

I work in a Local Authority Welfare Rights Service and we are looking at the possiblity of obtaining a computerised case management system.

There are 11 Welfare Rights Officers in 3 different offices. We have access to the central Local Authority computer system but the 3 Welfare Rights offices are not networked. We provide a full range of welfare benefit advice and representation, money and employment advice. The Service has the Quality Mark at the general help with caesework level.

Does any organisation-preferably Local Authority- have experience of such systems? Please could you get in touch with any information you have on computerised case management systems and how practical you find them.

Many thanks.

maybe have a look at AIMS ....

Lasa's AIMS (Advice & Information Management System) software is a client contact database designed to meet the needs of advice and information providers.

The system enables advice and information providers to collect data relating to their service users, capturing details for social policy and reporting purposes, as well as offering a range of integrated functions designed to assist workers with their casework management.

The system provides a number of features designed to offer practical help and assistance in the delivery of quality assured services. For instance, those agencies seeking a Quality Mark under the Community Legal Service framework would find AIMS useful in meeting various audit reporting requirements, providing step by step procedures for dealing with client related problems and making and monitoring appropriate referrals, all within the LSC framework.

For more information see the AIMS pages of the lasa website @ http://www.lasa.org.uk/aims/index.shtml
