Carers Allowance and State Pension
I have come across someone who is receiving a State Pension of £200+ p/w and is also being paid Carers Allowance. Is this just a mistake or might she be benefitting from some revoked regulations from years ago that allowed both to be paid simultaneously? She is 86.
Was she getting a widows pension or widowed mothers’ allowance? I have a memory that there were special rules applying to overlapping cases then.
Thanks Gareth but no, nothing like that.
