Managed migration roll out map
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for this.
Can you explain why Northumberland appears 3 times in total? I’m confused (don’t think it’s the geography this time)
I think I understand the first 2 instances, & I know it’s a discovery area since September, but thought that tax credit claimants there were already affected?
[ Edited: 28 Nov 2023 at 04:52 pm by WillH ]The first Northumberland was a part of the initial discovery, and only included 250 claimants, and not just tax credits only claimants.
The second Northumberland was the later discovery, testing other benefit combinations besides tax credits only.
The third Northumberland is for the normal full rollout of managed migration, which hasn’t yet started in Northumberland.
Thanks Charles,
Apologies for late response, you are of course absolutely right.
I hadn’t appreciated that the second discovery phase only included those benefits to be migrated next year, and not those on tax credits only.
Shawn,
Is it possible to update the chart so it shows that Mercia started in January 24 (after being brought forward)?
And could the resource be accessible from the Resources tab (Under UC, I spose)? Maybe it is but I haven’t been able to find it there, though I have saved the link so can always share that of course.
Hi Will .... great idea(s) ..... done and done ....

Thanks Shawn! That’s great.
Hi Shawn,
Me again.
Is it possible to update the overview pages to show that rollout to all areas in GB happened a month earlier than expected?
See https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2024-01-25/hcws213
I think it was also mentioned in Touchbase recently. I assume that means that Black Country actually came on board in Feb 24 & not in March.
I know it’s mostly academic now but I’m being asked by people (tax credit only claimants) who haven’t yet had their notices whether I know when things started in their area, as this gives them an idea how recently notices began to be sent out in their district. Doesn’t make any difference to predicting when their notices will turn up but does something to allay anxiety slightly.
Hi Will
Thanks for this.
Now updated to reflect changes and added the Minister’s statement as source.

Thank you Stuart! Much appreciated.

We’ve also updated the page with a table to show the rollout by benefit(s) received in 2024/2025 -
