People with pre/settled status may not know until too late that they’re not protected by Withdrawal Agreement
Professor Charlotte O’Brien’s twitter thread outlines the disturbing possibility of a Windrush-like scandal for successful EUSS applicants.
It seems that, in the UK government’s eyes, not all successful applicants to the EUSS have the protection of withdrawal agreement rights. The danger is that in years to come, when people with EUSS status seek to rely on those rights, they will be scrambling for documents that they failed to retain in the interim, believing themselves to be safe.
Do see the thread for more info on how this happened, arguments being made opposing the divergence and progress made in the Courts so far.
