new pensions guidance service
From earlier this week .... the govt has unveiled the name of the new pensions guidance service.
From April, ‘Pension Wise’ will be delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice (England and Wales), Citizens Advice Scotland, the Northern Ireland Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux and The Pensions Advisory Service.

Citizens Advice has released the names of the first 44 bureaux in England and Wales which will be delivery centres for face to face Pension Wise sessions.
Citizens Advice has announced that it will be delivering Pension Wise from more than 500 locations and gives details of the 50 delivery centres currently offering service -

The Work and Pensions Committee has published its report on pension freedom and advice, including that take-up of Pension Wise has been lower than anticipated and the recommendation that it should give more personalised guidance incorporating an enquirer’s wider financial circumstances, and improve its ‘static’ website to incorporate interactive features like, at least, an income calculator -

DWP blames Pension Wise job cuts on ‘excess capacity’
A DWP spokesperson said: “We deliberately built extra capacity into the Pension Wise service at the start to ensure that anyone could make an appointment, regardless of where they lived in the UK.
Pension Wise has now been running for nearly a year and we are in a better position to plan capacity. We are actively working with our delivery partners to ensure we have the right resources in the right places.
Govt announced over the weekend that a single body is to replace the Money Advice Service & take on the roles of the Pensions Advisory Service & Pension Wise
