Bringing over father of EEA national from Belgium.
I have a quite complicated EEA question regarding benefits .
I have client who is Belgian 23 has a partner(not working) - client is in receipt of SMP-so I reckon she is retaining her workers status. She is in receipt of PIP.
They have a 6 month old child.
Clients partner is looking after the child and is in receipt of CA.
Unsure of rent etc.
However client would like to bring her father over from Belgium who is from the DR of Congo but has a 5 year residence permit/leave to remain in Belgium. She wants to bring him over as a ‘family member’ of an EEA national who has a right to reside. The idea would be that the father would come over to help look after the child and also possibly work.
Could he also work and is this a possible way of bring the dad into the UK? Also would he have to apply for an EEA family permit? As I imagine he might have some trouble with border control in the UK if he does not?
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
A
I think they need specialist immigration advice. I really wouldn’t feel confident advising them solely from the EEA/RTR angle.

Yes very tricky situation. Thanks for your response. I could use OISC search to find free immigration advice in their area I guess.
