Thank you
Having only been a benefits adviser for 6 years I am a newbie compared to some of you who post on the forum.
However I am now leaving my post and retiring at the end of the week and I wanted to thank everyone who has helped me with queries over the last few years. The forum has helped me with questions (which in turn has benefited some of my clients) and helped clarify matters of puzzlement. There is always more to learn.
Thanks too to Rightsnet for hosting the forum and for the work the team does keeping us up to date.
I expect to be an interested bystander and will likely still read the forum. Sadly the welfare system continues to be distorted by the strivers/skivers narrative and it seems that there has been a deterioration in the standard of administration of the system with delays and often very basic errors as a result of inadequate training. The need for advisers is therefore ever greater (and one can only imagine the numbers without advice who are missing out or being paid incorrectly).
Thanks to all and best wishes for the future.
Sad to see you go Ian ... thanks for all your support over the years ...
(.... at 950+ forum contributions I’m not sure about your ‘newbie’ tag 😂)
All the best with whatever comes next for you ...
Cheers ... Shawn
Yes thanks for all your contributions here Ian - and also within the Bristol community - you’ve been fantastic!
Wishing you all the best and enjoy your retirement :)
Congratulations on your retirement Ian, your contributions here will be missed.
Best of luck with everything Ian, hope you enjoy whatever comes next.
All the best, but do carry on reading! Why miss out on all the fun????
You’ll be missed Ian, good luck with the future!
This is our “new normal” isn’t it. People leaving this brilliant vocation faster than we can bring new people on board. There’s a real sense of community here. Mutual respect and willingness to help seen very rarely elsewhere online. I suspect all of us feel a twinge when people leave.
Good luck Ian. May whatever comes next give you lasting fun and pleasure.
Hope you enjoy your retirement Ian - you’ll defo be missed on rightsnet and a real miss on the frontline as well I’m sure.
Your contributions will be missed Ian. Good luck and enjoy ‘freedom’ :)
Thanks, all.
I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and say a MASSIVE thank you.
I have been in a pickle a number of times and the I have lost count the times someone on here has already answered a similar question and highlighted spcecific regulation.
I would honestly be lost without this fantastic resource.

Hi there ... that’s so lovely of you ... thanks for taking the time to say it ...
