Hi

Not dealt with Child Benefit issues before so this is completely new to me and I can’t seem to find a definitive answer

Client is/was receiving CB for her son who was 18 and in “full-time education”. He has been working at the weekends during term time for approx 16 hours.

Client has mental health issues herself so doesn’t really speak to the QYP about work etc but believes he worked more hours during the 6-week summer break. I’ve seen that the QYP cannot work more than 24 hours, is that a blanket rule regardless or is there an exception where the QYP worked more simply because it was summer break. He has technically still been in full-time education.

I’ve also seen you can have “breaks” in the claim where you won’t qualify for a certain period but can when they become a QYP - would this be the case here?

Client has a meeting a jobcentre to provide further evidence on this matter so wanted to give them a heads up before they go next week.

Thanks,

Adam
