phew !!! 2nd post in as many minutes ...
have cl.s aged 67 (husband -h) and 60 (wife -w) from portugal. w has been in uk for approx. 5 years and upon approaching 60th birthday on 17/11/08 received letter from jcp advising her she now had to claim p.c. she claimed this but of course claim refused due to not having r2r, at same time h.b / c.t.b claim ceased. h came to uk late 08 and on 23/03/09 began self-employed work of approx. 8 hours pw. h claimed p.c and this was awarded, and h.b / c.t.b also. however, if h ceases work p.c, h.b / c.t.b awards will cease due to not being economocally active,a nd w cannot work because of age / language difficulties. my q. is if husband pays tax for a period of time will he obtain r2r in future if he has to cease work, and if so is there a period of time that paying tax would be acceptable.
hope this post makes sense and as ever, all replies greatly appreciated.
