I have a client on PC who has someone staying with her who pays £80 towards his food/living costs. The 'lodger' is her ex husband (divorced) and has purely moved back due to ill health and needing frequent care. Ex wife is caring for him and has been granted und ent to CP. We have stressed to all concerned that they are not living as husband and wife. HB have accepted him as non dep and there are no deductions due to him being on PC too. I understand that if PS deem this to be a commercial arrangement, they will treat part of the money paid as income in her PC calculation. However, if it is proven to be non commercial, all monies are ignored. They are expecting a visit from P service soon and I would welcome any hints/tips/experiences of this situation.
