I read in the DWP publication Touchbase that "A person who is living together with a same-sex partner(whether or not they have entered into a civil partnership) will be treated in the same way as a person who is treated as living together as husband and wife with a partner of the opposite sex"
I just wondered how they will implement that when so many people (especially younger people) house share. What do others think?

What sent a shiver down my spine was the statement that:
"Ministers have been working...to ensure that the living together as husband and wife test is applied with respect and sensitivity to both opposite and same-sex couples"
Considering some of the horror stories on threads on these boards currently doing the rounds in relation to benefits and tax credits stopping after dubious living together decisions, the mind boggles as to how people in situations such as those you describe will be treated following the Civil Partnership Act becoming law.
