mortgage interest - 6.08 Thu 21-May-09 12:44 PM
In december the mortgage standard interest rate payment for people on income support, job seekers and pension credit was frozen at 6.08% for 6 months. Cpag in their new book states the government said they were going to review it "some time" after 24th May.
Does any one know if there has been an up date on this? I'm tempted to ask about if there is any up date on claiming for a second home but I wont.
"A.31 The 2008 Pre-Budget Report announced that the Standard Interest Rate (SIR) used to calculate SMI would be maintained at the existing 6.08 per cent for six months from December 2008. The SIR will now be maintained at 6.08 per cent for an additional six months, until 31 December 2009."
