Landlord Appeal Rights
Wed 18-Feb-04 08:29 AM

Following the decision of the tribunal of Commissioners, is there any word about possible further appeal or change to Regs.? These were options posted in an old message in the old forum. Any update would be helpful as I still have outstanding appeal cases.

I understand that the DWP has now decided to amend the relevant legislation to give landlords an unequivocal right of appeal against decisions to recover overpayments from them (as well as the right of appeal against decisions as to recoverability, amount etc.).

Unfortunately, this will take time - around 6 months I've been advised. If any appeals come up for a hearing you can try asking for an adjournment.
