Help
Mon 13-Feb-06 08:12 AM

I've just returned from maternity leave and have noticed that the £2,500 threshold for increases in income has lept up to a massive £25,000! Can someone please advise me how that affects the calculation when a client is, for example, starting work after being on benefit? Do I disregard the £25,000 as I previously did with the £2,500? I know it's asking a bit much but could anyone comment before 10am as I have my first client then!

Thanks

I think you do treat changes of less then £25K in the same way as we treat changes of less than £2500, BUT the change to £25K doesn't come in until April.

...BUT

the income that will be used as the basis for April's disregard is this year's income, so people should be being advised about the consequences now.
