Just got back. What should I know?
Mon 06-Aug-07 12:15 PM

Hi everyone

I've just returned to work after an 11-month absence and would be grateful if some kind soul would flag up any major changes I should be aware of.

I mainly deal with in-work benefits but anything to do with anything of any importance would be great too.

Many thanks

I agree with above advice but, just off the top of my head, here's a few things in your field to look out for:

Jobgrant extended to those aged 18-24 who are neither sick nor parents.

New 4 week Tax Credit run on at the end of a claim.

Changes to reporting arrangements for tax credit changes of circs (these were probably flagged up before you went away).

Prisoners no longer able to get WTC.

Refugee intergration loans introduced.

From next April Permitted Work for claimants on incapacity related benefits, will have earnings disregards for means tested benefits, equal to the earnings limits.

Pathways to work replacing new deal for disabled people in various areas from next month.

In-work credit (where applicable)to be increased to £60 but date of change not yet available.

Do check though as I haven't actually checked any of this
