Earnings disregard
Thu 11-Mar-04 02:38 PM

Does anyone know the current earnings disregard for pensioners receiving HB/CTB, where one or both working 30 hours or more?. The 30 plus hours disregard is £11.90 and was linked to reciept of higher pensioner premium - did this change with introduction of pension credit - changes in personal allowances etc, what is the current disregard?

The earnings disregard is dealt with by Sch 3A of the HB Regs (inserted from 6 Oct 03)(para 9)

Basically anyone over 25 working over 30hrs a week (including anyone over pension age) will be entitled to the disregard and in the case of couples with children the agregate number of hours is used to decide whether the 30hr criterion is met, -provided at least one of them works more than 16hrs a week

The disregard is still £11.90 but will increase to £12.32 in April
